FeH3 + 3 HCl → 3 H2 + FeCl3
This is an oxidation-reduction (redox) reaction:
3 HI + 3 e- → 3 H0 (reduction)
3 H-I - 3 e- → 3 H0 (oxidation)
HCl is an oxidizing agent, FeH3 is a reducing agent (synproportionation (comproportionation)).
